im 17, i have been on the pill for around 8 months. i have depression but the birth control didnt seem to affect that at all for me, (i take pills for depression as well)- i just stopped taking it a couple days ago because i realized i gained around 20 pounds since i started, and have never had a problem with weight gain before i took it. i am so excited to be off of it, its one less pill to take, and hopefully now going to the gym almost everyday i will finally start to see results.. so far i am bleeding as if im on my period. i dont have any skin problems with or without the pills, so im not worried about that. my biggest issue with the pill was my appetite and weight gain. i hope i can feel like a petite 17 yr old again, and not super wide hipped and bloated :/ i just want my body back , im workig hard

With all the bad stuff aside, BC has been pretty helpful for me. I take Yaz as well and it cleared my acne and the whole reason I started in the first place was extreme cramping on and off my period, and since starting that level of pain has never returned. Not to mention as well I always saw myself as a little to skinny and it has made me fill out into a normal woman's body which makes me pretty happy.

I stopped taking the pill in May of 2017. I will never go back on BC. It’s not natural. I can’t believe I fell for the gimmick for so many years. I feel better and healthier off it. Now we are trying to get pregnant and I am so excited to start my own family.

I just wanna throw this out there: I have PCOS and it took me about a year to find the pill that worked best for me. I was having HORRIBLE anxiety and depression & super heavy periods. After seeing a hormone specialist, he explained that the pill would work to balance out my hormones and actually help my mental health. It's helped me tremendously to be on the birth control pill! I seriously encourage all women to explore what is best for them, their bodies, and their lifestyles! Birth control can be such a hard, confusing thing to have to figure out!

I stopped taking the pill because my withdrawal bleeds stopped completely.
Came off the pill, periods were regular, less moody, less depressed, can't cry on demand anymore.
However, i had period pain for the first time in my life, and my acne returned

As a man, I cant wait for male birth control. I'll take birth control, she can take birth control, and I'll wear a condom. I'm really trying to avoid kids and STDs

I’m going off of birth control in two weeks. I used it because I apparently have pcos (I don’t have cysts, I just don’t get periods. I’ve had about 10 periods over the course of 4 years). But birth control gave me acne and made me gain weight and gave me cramps I’ve never had before

Watching this video as someone who has NEVER gotten a natural period but is still on birth control. I get my period every once and a while on it but I’ve never gotten it without birth control or doing the progesterone challenge.

I tried birth control one time when I was 18 .. never again after that I'm 31 now and I feel great. I do get more cramps and a bit more emotional now that. Older but overall I feel good.

When I first went on birth control (before I got married 8 years ago) it was great no side effects, then my insurance wouldn't pay for the one I was on. So, I had change to the generic. The generic made me gain 60lbs, became depressed, no energy, my hair and nails stopped growing and became brittle and I threw up every single day I was on it. I stopped taking it and was off birth control for the last 5 years. In November I started Keto and April I missed a period. No big deal my periods have never been regular and I have polycystic ovary syndrome. I missed another in May. By this time, I started taking a pregnancy test every week because it could be that. Well, all were negative. Found out the Keto in combination with the other issue was causing me to not have a period. So, I started a low dose birth control in June and I have to say it has helped me get my periods regular and I feel better and so far no negative side effects.

Why do people keep saying "I'll just use a condom. Screw birth control". Roughly 2-3 girls out of 100 will get pregnant when the condom is used 100% correctly. I promise y'all, being pregnant and having a little one has WAY WAY more side effects then birth control pills LMAO. This I know oh too well.

Yeah my periods are a little longer and I get cramps but I know how to manage them. My mood has drastically increased since being off. Recently, I found out that I will actually have lasting affects my reproductive system from taking bc. I am still so glad I went off though!

I started my period when I was 11/12, and for the first year it was extremely heavy, I would bleed through thing basically every day to the point I began layering pads on top of each other to prevent the mess, though in spite of that, I never had any other symptoms like cramps, my periods weren't painful at all, I didn't even know what cramps felt like.
When I grew older into my teenage years, my periods because extremely light or just so much more manageable, but I started having horrible cramps, body aches, exhaustion, nausea and dizziness, so my mom suggested I got on birth control and I did for 1.5 years, I've gotten off of it a few months ago and now my period is the heaviest it's ever been AND I have terrible cramps, lit rally a tragedy luv

Especially now when I’m overweight and it helps me control my period etc. no period at all now.

Icky fun fact: ovulation stopped because of my weight but the lining kept building up until it fell of itself. Which meant heavy ”period” weeks and weeks on end, tiredness, mood swings and basically my body was completely out of balance.

Now I’m Me again and no money spent on period stuff since. And as I live in Sweden a year worth of ”minipill” is below 100 dollars so I’m happy.

I can tell that I'm far more depressed than usual. (Not a scary amount.) I'm going to finish up the three month adjustment and decide if I want to continue from there. The problem is, no matter how careful my hubby and I are, I flip out. The stress of possibly being pregnant makes me feel like I'll go insane. So it's either depressed or insanity

It will help the hormones come out of your system quicker. I've even heard of girls using saunas to help speed up things, take maca, evening primrose oil.

And yes, I had taken BC pills for 10 sold years. I'm in perimenopause now, so soon BC in general will be a thing of the past!
